How was the Constitution altered by the creation of our federal district? According to Wikipedia, the purpose of creating the District of Columbia in 1871 was to provide a form of governance for the square miles set aside from the two states that had donated land for federal transactions. Until Washington D.C.'s corporate charter is pulled, or a state cedes the union, we are all Unites States Incorcorated's property, and you better stay in line....
